Andreu World has opened the doors of its new showroom in London. Located in the Clerkenwell district, the space has an area of 400 square meters and houses the latest furniture collections, created by designers such as Philippe Starck, Alfredo Häberli, Benjamin Hubert, Jasper Morrison and Patricia Urquiola.
The design of the new showroom was the work of designer Patricia Urquiola, who has collaborated with Andreu World for more than a decade. The project for the London showroom unfolds across two floors, with a coherent design language throughout the space. The designer imagines a flexible and adaptable space, characterized by a single long open area on the ground floor that welcomes visitors. Screen walls divide various contemporary living environments and showcase Andreu World's collections.
In line with Andreu World's commitment to sustainability, the space has been designed using only circular economy materials. Urquiola incorporates renewable resources and sustainable materials throughout the space. Starting with the FSC® wooden walls of the various settings to the use of Smile Plastic, composed of “waste” plastics collected from post-consumer and post-industrial sources, which are used for the shelves.
Compact stone has been used for the floor, chosen for its ability to minimize CO2 emissions through simple drying, the use of recycled water, the exclusive use of recovered materials, the reuse of waste products and zero waste. In addition, the stone is laid dry, making it easy to dismantle and reuse.
